With reference to the letter dated 27th June
from this Department, sa directed to inform you that
a reply has been received from the Governor of Hong Kong on the representations made in the letter dated the 11th way which you and certain of your colleagues sent to this Department.
Sir Alexander Granthan nas pointed out that full opportunity for the ventilation of grievances both on the subject of seniority and on that of salary has been afforded to the elfare Committee of the British Inspectorate as well as to individual officers in the proceedings of the salaries Commission.
